A Day at the Ruhengeri Hospital with Photographer J Carrier
Using cell phones, text messages and a simple SQL Server database, the U.S. government wants to revolutionize the way health-care workers treat AIDS patients across Africa. This approach, which PEPFAR ultimately plans to roll out in 10 countries, is based on a network in use in Rwanda. And in that country, the staff at a hospital in Ruhengeri say it has improved care onsite and in the field. Travel to Ruhengeri with photographer J Carrier.
